Planting asparagus beds is something that can be a real investment for the future. This is because the asparagus plants can last as long as 20 years with the right conditions. The beds shouls be a sheltered site with good sunlight. Sandy, well-drained soil is ideal. Planting crowns is much easier than growing asparagus from seeds. It is important not to harvest newly planted asparagus for the first year.
