Who we are

This website is run by Veggie Trumps Ltd, 24 Melfort Close, Swindon SN5 5FG. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can contact us at mail@veggietrumps.com.

What we collect and why

When you buy from us

Payments are handled by PayPal. When you check out, PayPal passes us your name, email address and delivery address. We use these to send your order, email you an order confirmation and a dispatch notice, and deal with any questions or returns. We never see or store your card or bank details.

Our legal basis is that we need this information to fulfil our contract with you. We keep order records for 6 years because UK tax law requires it, then delete them.

Schools: invoice orders, quotes and classroom stories

If you use the form on our Schools page, we keep your name, school, role, email, phone and delivery address so we can reply, send an invoice and post your order. Our legal basis is taking steps to enter into a contract at your request. We keep these for 6 years if an order is placed (for tax records), otherwise for 2 years.

Teacher mailing list

If you sign up for teaching resources, we keep your email address (and school, if you give it), the date you signed up and the wording you agreed to. We only email you about new Veggie Trumps teaching resources, about once a term. Our legal basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and when you unsubscribe we stop emailing you straight away.

When you email us

If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply and look back at the conversation. We delete general enquiries after 2 years.

Browsing the site

Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type) for security and to fix problems.

See our cookie policy for the cookies we use.

Who we share it with

• PayPal, to take your payment. PayPal has its own privacy statement.
• Royal Mail or another courier, who receive your name and delivery address to deliver your order.
• Our web host, which stores the website and its database.

We don’t sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.

Your rights

You can withdraw consent to teacher emails at any time with the unsubscribe link. You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless we must keep it for tax purposes). Email us at mail@veggietrumps.com.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
